Breckenridge Memorial

Breckenridge Memorial Park

The City of Breckenridge, Minnesota dedicated their Veterans Memorial Park in November 2012. The park dedication included the unveiling of one of D-Troops Cobra gunships that was used during the Vietnam War. Several of our D-Troop members attended the dedication and some spoke about the Cobra and the men who flew her. The Cobra displays the names of two of our fallen pilots who actually flew Cobra 67-15650. The names of Alvie J. Ledford and William C. Pierson III appear on the side of the aircraft to honor their sacrafice.

Nick Lappos and Mel Walker, who both flew the parks Cobra gunship during the Vietnam War and were part of D-Troop, spoke briefly to the crowd assembled around the newly-erected flag poles.
